Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist/MLT Rapid City, SD 57701 Full-time Full-time Looking for more than just a job? We want you to join us! Our clinic provides pediatric primary care and urgent care. sick, and bereavement leave, holidays, vacation. 401K match. Perform technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, and immunology. Report test results following clinic protocols, ensure quality control in collecting specimens, maintain equipment and comply with all policies and OSHA regulations. Perform phlebotomy. Position does require occasional early evenings and weekends. Education requirement of one of the following: Diploma in Lab Assisting, Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related field, and (1) year of clinical laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience or- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and graduate from an HHS-approved laboratory training program.
Certification requirements:
Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician by ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathology) or- possess certification by an HHS-approved laboratory training program.
Job Specifications:
Perform simple to complex laboratory tests. Provide specialized testing in microbiology, urinalysis, serology, hematology, hemostasis, immunohematology, and chemistry. Perform phlebotomy. Ensure sample integrity and accuracy of test results. Identify and resolve inconsistencies in laboratory results. Maintain and ensure quality control and functionality of laboratory equipment and instruments. Provide customer service and professional interaction with patients. Communicate with providers regarding test processes, test results, and sample collection techniques. Participate in continuing education programs. Perform other duties as assigned or required.
