Job description: Job Summary This position is responsible for the management and implementation of laboratory testing in an office lab setting with strict adherence to industry, laboratory and regulatory agency collection protocols while maintaining the highest standards of quality. Laboratory testing encompasses equipment maintenance, collection, processing and testing of patient samples, recording/resulting accurate data to test reports and into the laboratory information system, and preparing samples for transport. Periodic checks on monitoring equipment are required. Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to reporting accuracy, patient results, and quality control data are required of this position. Responsible for inventory management and maintaining adequate laboratory supplies. The individual serving in this position must demonstrate the ability to multitask while working collaboratively and effectively with providers, fellow team members, patients, customers, and the public in the performance of all job duties. This position provides administrative support to customers and support partners through the creation of documents and data entry for the purpose of ensuring completeness and accuracy of forms and records.
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

JOB DUTIES
(Include but not limited to): The successful candidate will perform various types of laboratory specimen collections including DNA swabs, blood draws, hair, nail, urine, and breath samples. You will record and evaluate test results, and report/enter/verify test results in the appropriate laboratory information system. Perform general and program-specific clerical functions (e.g. answer the telephones, sending reports, scheduling, copying, faxing, etc.) for the purpose of supporting medical activities. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, accurate data entry, billing, and reporting information for client records. Adhere to daily Start Up/Shut Down procedures of the laboratory. Adhere to quality control guidelines of each testing modality in strict alignment with testing guidelines. Confirm correct labeling of all specimens collected and processed. Collect, correctly identify, and prepare specimens for testing. Ensure timely entry and accurate recording of patient results, quality control data, maintenance steps, and troubleshooting measures. Monitor, document, troubleshoot, and maintain accurate temperature requirements. Manifest and prepare specimens for transport to reference laboratories Maintain awareness of courier pickup times and ensure specimens are prepared to meet the scheduled pickup time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
: This position typically operates in a temperature-controlled office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines in addition to specialized medical equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Visual acuity, speech, hearing, and hand/eye coordination required. Manual dexterity required to operate a computer keyboard, office equipment and various medical equipment. Subject to long periods of sitting with repetitive use of hands, fingers, wrists. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs., bend, stoop, kneel, twist and reach.
