Job Summary:
Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist needed for our Austin location. Provides exceptional customer service and promotes a professional image and attitude. Needs to be friendly, outgoing, and a multi-tasker (We want you to have fun!).
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Medical Assistant Obtains patient vital signs, weight, height & blood pressure. Obtains medical history information as needed. Shows patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the Provider. Records patients' vital signs in EMR chart. Collects blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing by outside laboratory. Gives injections and medications as prescribed by the doctor. Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets and Providers' instructions to patients. Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and by keeping patient information confidential according to HIPAA & state guidelines. Ensures patient lab results are in their proper chart. Follows up on patient's phone calls/emails. Receive and handle phone calls as directed by Providers. Notifies patients of lab results after consulting with Provider. Schedules patient follow-up appointments as necessary. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following OSHA standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. Disposes of contaminated supplies Answers office phone and assists front desk when needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Phlebotomy Performs initial assessment of patients to include collection and documenting of vital signs, chief complaint, history, allergies, current medication, results of laboratory. Proficient in phlebotomy and appropriate laboratory techniques to complete the required diagnostic tests Provide assistance to medical providers during examination and treatment of patients, including invasive procedures and giving various injections as ordered Maintains a safe environment for patients, customers, self, and other employees Adhere to clinic dress code, wearing your badge; Identify yourself to patients and customers on the phone and in person; Responds to phone calls and messages in a timely manner Attends necessary meetings and takes responsibility for content if absent; Maintains professional growth and participates in additional training as needed; Attends meetings on time Assist with daily operation including answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, and other duties as assigned as needed Performs care in accordance with standards of care, Quality Assurance Criteria, and policy and procedure guidelines Any other duties or tasks as assigned by the Office Manager or Providers.

1 year minimum of Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy experience
