JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of a supervisor, the phlebotomist assumes the responsibility for safely performing venipunctures and related procedures under the philosophy, policies, and procedures established by hospital and lab department. Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Medical assistant or phlebotomy certificate preferred. BLS is required.
Knowledge of the various types of needles, anticoagulant, special handling, and preparation of test that are to be performed.
On the job training or vocational school training required. Requires the ability to read and write to follow written and oral instructions.
Excellent people skills and communication skills.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
