Job Summary and Qualifications As a Phlebotomist at our facility you will be an integral part of our Laboratory team. We are a highly functioning team that supports many different departments and has a passion for providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing.
In this role:
- You will collect blood samples and body fluids from patients for laboratory testing including blood cultures and arterial samples for blood gas analysis.
- You will register specimens and orders tests in LIS and prepare/label samples for internal or external testing.
- You will communicate lab test requests and results to appropriate staff, departments, and/or physicians.
- You will collect and document urine drug screens requiring chain of custody and breath alcohol when required.
- You will assist with in-services or training as assigned.
- You will assist with administrative duties within the laboratory.
Qualifications:
- Phlebotomy Certification required.
- One year of phlebotomy experience or equivalent phlebotomy training program.
- Excellent communication/people skills and problem solving skills.
- Computer skills and filing/clerical skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course ( BLS or BCLS ) and Certification.
- Valid driver's license.
