Responsibilities Facilitate the collection, processing, and shipping of urine specimens Collect urine specimens from patients, including observed and supervised collections Properly identify patients before specimen collection following departmental policies Label, document, and prepare specimens for shipment ensuring accuracy Provide compassionate customer service when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff Communicate effectively with a diverse patient base and respond appropriately to their needs Follow Universal Precautions and OSHA standards when handling specimens Strictly adhere to HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality Notify supervisors of low-volume shifts, issues, or procedural deviations Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times Assist with office and supply management as needed Required Skills Proven experience providing excellent customer service Highly reliable with a strong work ethic Strong computer skills, including managing multiple programs, email, and reports Fast and accurate data entry abilities Clear and confident communication skills Additional Skills & Requirements Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs Physical activities include walking, sitting, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and squatting Experience in specimen collection, preferably in a healthcare or laboratory setting, is a plus A reliable schedule aligned with the current shift hours (including early mornings and afternoons) Ensure your attention to detail and compassionate approach make you an ideal candidate for this critical role in patient specimen collection and testing.
