This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collecting vital specimens to support laboratory testing and diagnosis. Responsibilities Facilitate the collection, processing, and shipping of urine specimens. Collect urine specimens from patients, ensuring proper identification and labeling. Conduct observed and/or supervised specimen collections, including direct observation, mirror, or camera-assisted collections. Follow departmental policies and OSHA standards to safely handle specimens. Demonstrate customer service and compassion when interacting with patients, physicians, and clinic staff. Accurately document specimens and prepare them for shipment. Maintain neat and organized patient and work areas. Communicate effectively with diverse patient populations. Report shift updates, issues, and procedural deviations to supervisors. Order processing and office supply management as needed. Required Skills Verifiable experience providing excellent customer service in a healthcare setting. Reliable, with a strong work ethic and professionalism. Strong computer skills, including managing multiple programs, email, and report handling. Fast and accurate data entry abilities. Clear and concise communication skills with credibility and confidence. Additional Skills & Requirements Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. Physical activity includes walking, sitting, bending, lifting, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and squatting. Availability Monday through Friday, with varied 8-hour shifts. Solid color scrubs and closed-toe shoes required. Experience performing observed specimen collections is preferred. Prior experience in urine specimen collection, specimen labeling, and handling OSHA and HIPAA guidelines is desirable.
