Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a PRN Phlebotomist, where your expertise in specimen collection and patient care will make a meaningful difference. In this flexible role, you will provide vital laboratory services by performing blood draws and specimen collection with precision and compassion. Your skills will support accurate diagnostics and contribute to the overall health and well-being of our diverse patient population. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your laboratory techniques and physiology knowledge to deliver exceptional patient service whenever coverage is needed. Responsibilities Collect blood samples through venipuncture and skin puncture techniques, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following proper processing protocols and aseptic techniques. Obtain vital signs and assess patient condition to ensure readiness for specimen collection. Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, patient information, and specimen details in compliance with hospital policies. Follow laboratory procedures and adhere to safety standards to prevent contamination or infection. Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and compassionate care throughout the collection process. Assist with other clinical laboratory tasks as needed, supporting the overall workflow of the department. Qualifications Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings, preferably within a hospital environment. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and blood sampling methods. Demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen processing. Excellent patient service skills with a caring approach to patient care and comfort. Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control practices to ensure specimen integrity. Prior laboratory experience involving vital signs measurement and phlebotomy preferred. Ability to work independently on an as-needed basis while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism. $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
