Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant to join our private practice in Freeland, WA on a part-time basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with clinical laboratory experience and a passion for patient care. The successful candidate will perform specimen collection, assist with patient services, and support overall clinical operations within a friendly and professional environment. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, anatomy, and medical terminology, along with excellent patient service skills. Responsibilities Collect blood samples through venipuncture and capillary puncture using aseptic technique Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature Assist patients with specimen collection, ensuring comfort and safety throughout procedures Maintain proper documentation of patient information and laboratory data Follow strict infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment Support clinical staff with general patient care activities as needed Ensure all laboratory procedures comply with safety standards and regulations Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the clinical area Requirements Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings Certification or training in phlebotomy or medical assisting preferred Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology Experience with specimen collection, processing, and blood sampling techniques (venipuncture) Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately Excellent patient service skills with compassionate communication abilities Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control practices Previous hospital or healthcare facility experience is a plus Ability to work part-time hours in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Certification or training in phlebotomy or medical assisting is desirable but not mandatory This position provides an excellent opportunity for healthcare professionals seeking part-time work in a supportive private practice setting.
