This individual performs a variety of duties, including but not limited to routine clerical functions, greeting patients/visitors, performs computer entry of physician orders, screens phone calls for test information, data entry and retrieval of patient's results and messages, charting of patient results, helps support the Laboratory computer system to ensure efficient operation of the Laboratory work flow. Responsible for the phlebotomy collection and triage area, maintaining printers and requisition request organization, performs routine phlebotomy, skin punctures, and in-house courier service.
Requirements:
Phlebotomy and office experience required. Background in customer service preferred. Strong communication skills, customer service oriented. BLS and Phlebotomy certification is required and must be maintained during employment. Graduate of Medical Assistant School, Business/Vocational, and Medical Secretarial or courses in Phlebotomy required. ASPT or equivalent certification is required to be obtained within the first six months of employment, if not currently certified.
