Key Qualifications:
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist Experience working in school or pediatric settings preferred Ability to evaluate and develop individualized treatment plans for students Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, families, and other specialists Detailed understanding of IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and the special education process Flexibility, adaptability, and passion for working with diverse children
Responsibilities:
Assess students' gross motor and mobility capabilities using standardized tools Develop and implement intervention strategies tailored to individual student needs Document progress and maintain compliance with school/district and state requirements Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapy into each student's school experience Educate school staff and families on adaptive equipment, exercises, and strategies to promote student independence Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on physical therapy goals and accommodations Benefits include a supportive professional environment with opportunities to develop your clinical skills in a dynamic school-based setting.
