Job Description
We are seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate is compassionate, skilled in evidence-based practices, and motivated to help our residents restore mobility, reduce pain, and achieve functional independence.
Job Summary :
Provide physical therapy services under direction of a physician to our residents who encounter impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical functions and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. Participates in Injury Illness Prevention Program and conducts ergonomics training to supervisors and staff which teaches proper skills, body mechanics and methods to effectively carry out their responsibilities in a safe manner. This also includes re-view of proper body mechanic techniques following work-related injuries. Essential responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Develops and maintains a good working rapport with Residents, their family's inter-department personnel, as well as other departments within the community to ensure that department services and activities can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents. Adheres to and enforces CV Manor Policies, Procedures and codes of conduct. Maintains professional and technical knowledge as expected of a licensed physical therapist according to the California Physical Therapy Practice Act and the standards of medical care for the profession. Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department. Assists in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished. Collaborate with other health care professionals as appropriate (MDs, RNs, CNAs, RNAs, Aides, Outside Personnel and Agencies), participating in clinical case conferences as required. Provides assessments and recommendations for adaptive equipment as needed for Residents, in addition to establishing home therapy programs. Schedules, coordinates and manages all own Resident appointments. Evaluates and treats residents for their physical mobility restrictions and limitations. Records all relevant medical information in the appropriate medical record for the evaluation and treatment sessions rendered to residents. Including documentation specifically for billing support. Provides billing information to accounting office for processing. Ensures general cleanliness and orderliness of physical therapy department and equipment to include scheduled service and maintenance of medical equipment. Participates in appropriate clinical staff in-service programs, to include serving as instructors for issues regarding body mechanics, patient handling, transfer and lifting techniques. Participate in regularly scheduled stand-up meetings, care-plan conferences when applicable and quality assurance meetings. Integrate campus wellness philosophy in therapy programing. Participates in Restorative Nursing Assistant programRequired Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
Must have a minimum of one year of experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, home health setting, outpatient or inpatient setting, or another related medical facility Must possess a Master of Science/Arts degree or higher Must have a valid and current California Physical Therapy license, and a valid and current Healthcare Provider CPR Certificate Must have the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully and work harmoniously with personnel, residents, family members, and visitors. Must be knowledgeable of Physical Therapy procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to hospitals, outpatient Physical Therapy clinics and nursing home operations. Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with professionally licensed and layman personnel. Must have the ability to maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment and maintain the appearance of the physical therapy areas, regular inspections and sanitation of physical therapy equipment, safety and proper performance of assigned duties. Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing physical therapy practices. Must perform proper CPT and ICD-coding for accounting office to process billing Medicare and Private Pay residents; familiarization with diagnosis codes, charting/medical records online, and ability to differentiate between Medicare qualifying services and non-Medicare qualifying services Why Join Us?!Compensation and Benefits:
