Key Qualifications:
Active licensure as a Physical Therapist, with eligibility to practice in California Previous experience in school-based therapy settings preferred Strong knowledge of IEPs and documentation for educational environments Ability to assess, plan, and implement therapy interventions tailored to pediatric populations Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with educators, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams
Core Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments to identify motor function needs and design individualized treatment plans Deliver physical therapy sessions targeted to support each student's academic and functional success Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other specialists to integrate therapy goals within school routines Maintain accurate records and contribute to IEP meetings with professional recommendations Educate school staff on adaptive equipment, accessibility, and strategies to promote safe participation in activities Monitor progress, adapt interventions as needed, and advocate for students' optimal development
