In this vital role, you will assess, develop, and implement innovative treatment plans that foster developmental progress and enhance quality of life for young children with diverse needs. Your expertise will help lay the foundation for lifelong health and mobility, making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families every day. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive evaluations of infants and young children to identify developmental delays or physical challenges. Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each child's unique needs, incorporating evidence-based physiotherapy techniques. Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, including pediatricians, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and social workers, to coordinate holistic care strategies. Provide hands-on therapy sessions in various settings such as home health visits, outpatient clinics, and community centers to promote mobility, strength, and functional independence. Educate parents and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, activity modifications, and strategies to support ongoing development at home. Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with medical terminology standards and electronic health records (EHR) systems. Participate in discharge planning processes by assessing progress and recommending next steps for continued therapy or community resources. Skills Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, neurology, orthopedics, and related medical terminology. Experience with outpatient rehabilitation centers, home health services, inpatient hospital settings or outpatient clinics working with pediatric populations. Proficiency in developing treatment plans that include patient rehabilitation goals aligned with clinical documentation standards. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems such as EMR systems for accurate documentation. Knowledge of discharge planning procedures and acute care experience is advantageous. Excellent client communication skills to engage children and their families compassionately while providing clear guidance on therapy activities.
