Embark on a fulfilling contract opportunity impacting students across all grade levels for the 2026-2027 school year! A school district near Winsted, CT is seeking a dedicated physical therapist to join their special education team, supporting a diverse K-12 caseload. This full-time position runs from late August 2026 through June 2027, with a weekly schedule of 32-37.5 hours, providing you the stability and consistent engagement to make a real difference in young lives.
Desired Qualifications:
Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of Connecticut or eligibility for licensure by start date Experience with school-based physical therapy preferred, especially in a K-12 or pediatric setting Strong interpersonal skills for collaborative work with students, teachers, and families Proficient in evaluating, developing, and implementing individualized therapy plans Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to travel across district schools as needed Commitment to in-person service delivery for the entirety of the contract
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs, focusing on optimizing functional mobility and participation Complete assessments and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state requirements Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and families to promote student success in all learning environments Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable insights to the student support team Adapt interventions and support to meet the unique needs of each student on your caseload If you're passionate about fostering independence and mobility for students of all abilities and thrive in a collaborative school environment, this role offers an unparalleled opportunity.
