Immediately Job Description United Staff Group is seeking a dedicated and qualified Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive health services to our students and staff. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in promoting a healthy and safe school environment that supports student well-being and academic success. This is a full-time position for the school year 2026 - 2027, and it requires a Active State of Connecticut Physical Therapist License. Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School-Based Physical Therapist to join our educational team in the Winsted, CT area. In this role, you will work directly with students from Pre-K through 12th grade who exhibit mild-to-severe physical disabilities or developmental delays. Your primary mission will be to help students access their educational environment, participate fully in school activities, and achieve their individual learning goals. Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive motor and functional evaluations to determine eligibility for services.
- Develop, review, and implement physical therapy goals within Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
- Deliver high-quality, on-site therapeutic interventions that support students' classroom mobility, positioning, and gross motor skills.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, parents, and school administrators.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of student progress, session notes, and Medicaid billing logs.
- Assist in adapting classroom environments and ordering specialized assistive equipment or seating. Qualifications & Requirements
- Active State of Connecticut Physical Therapist License (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date).
- Prior experience working in a school district or pediatric setting is strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of IEP processes and special education regulations (IDEA).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
