Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting middle and high school students as a physical therapist during the summer session. This opportunity is on a contract basis, running from July 6, 2026 (with an orientation and setup day), through August 6, 2026. The position requires in-person presence, Tuesday through Thursday, with staff hours varying depending on assignment location. You'll provide essential physical therapy services to a diverse caseload, making a difference in students' lives as they navigate a critical stage of their education and development. Your expertise will help students achieve greater mobility, function, and participation in their school environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist with credentials to practice in an educational or healthcare setting Previous experience in a school-based PT role, especially at the middle and/or high school level, strongly preferred Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and documentation Strong ability to collaborate with teachers, school staff, students, and families Excellent communication and organization skills Comfortable adapting to various locations and schedules within the district
Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver physical therapy interventions for students with a range of needs, focusing on fostering independence and participation Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor progress Document services and maintain required paperwork according to school and state guidelines Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to set goals and ensure coordinated support Provide consultative support and recommendations to staff and families Prepare for and participate in IEP meetings as appropriate Make a meaningful impact during the summer session by empowering students to reach their highest potential.
