We work with youth, high school, collegiate, adult, and tactical athletes in a collaborative, energetic environment. Position Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Sports Physical Therapist to join our team as an independent contractor. The ideal candidate has experience working with athletes and active individuals and is confident providing evaluations, individualized treatment plans, rehabilitation, injury-prevention programming, and return-to-sport services. This is an excellent opportunity for a physical therapist who enjoys working independently while collaborating with strength and conditioning coaches, sports coaches, and other performance professionals. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and movement assessments Develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans Treat orthopedic, musculoskeletal, and sports-related injuries Guide clients through post-operative and return-to-sport rehabilitation Provide injury-prevention, mobility, recovery, and corrective-exercise services Track client progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient documentation Educate clients regarding their condition, recovery plan, and home exercises Communicate and collaborate with coaches and other healthcare professionals when appropriate and authorized by the client Follow all applicable Florida laws, professional standards, privacy requirements, and facility safety procedures Maintain a clean, organized, and professional treatment area Build positive relationships with athletes, parents, coaches, and community partners Required Qualifications Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from a CAPTE-accredited program Current, active, and unrestricted Florida Physical Therapist license Current CPR/AED certification Professional liability/malpractice insurance Strong knowledge of orthopedic rehabilitation, sports injuries, functional movement, and return-to-sport programming Ability to work independently and exercise professional clinical judgment Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills Reliable transportation and dependable attendance Ability to maintain all required licenses, certifications, insurance, and independent-contractor documentation Ability to pass a background screening, if required Ability to work effectively with minors and their parents or guardians Willingness to provide a completed W-9 and any other documentation required for contractor onboarding Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in sports medicine, outpatient orthopedics, or an athletic-performance facility Experience treating youth, high school, collegiate, adult, or tactical athletes Sports Certified Specialist (SCS), Orthopaedic Certified Specialist (OCS), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), or similar credential Experience with post-operative rehabilitation and return-to-play testing Experience collaborating with strength and conditioning coaches Dry needling certification or other relevant manual-therapy training, when permitted within the provider's scope of practice Existing professional referral network or interest in developing a client base NPI number and experience with compliant clinical documentation Independent Contractor Arrangement This is an independent-contractor position and is not eligible for employee benefits. The selected provider will be responsible for maintaining their own professional license, liability insurance, certifications, tax obligations, and other business requirements. The contractor will retain independent clinical judgment and control over the methods used to provide professional services, subject to applicable laws, professional standards, and the terms of the contractor agreement. Schedule Flexible and based on facility availability, client demand, and the contractor's availability. Evening and/or weekend availability is a plus. Compensation To be discussed.
