Key Responsibilities As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your daily responsibilities will include: Conducting thorough evaluations of patients, which involves reviewing medical histories, performing specialized assessments, and developing individualized treatment plans based on each patient's unique needs. Communicating evaluation results and treatment strategies effectively to patients and their families, ensuring that they are actively engaged in setting therapeutic goals. Implementing evidence-based treatment protocols while adapting to real-time patient feedback and changes in condition, utilizing a wide range of therapeutic techniques. Collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians and specialists, to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Managing discharge planning and providing follow-up care instructions, making certain that transitions from rehabilitation to everyday life are as smooth as possible. Documenting patient interactions and treatment progress meticulously, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards while maintaining an accurate patient care record. Participating in departmental projects aimed at improving patient access and outcomes, actively engaging in community outreach initiatives. Demonstrating proficiency in time management, productivity, and adherence to scheduling protocols, enabling efficient operation within the clinic. Taking on the role of a clinical instructor for students, guiding their clinical education and fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals. Maintaining ongoing professional education and staying abreast of advancements in physical therapy practices to elevate both personal and organizational competence. Patient Population / Client Focus You will be working primarily with orthopedic patients who may be recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions. This diverse patient population will include individuals of all ages, from young athletes overcoming sports injuries to older adults navigating age-related mobility issues. Your expertise will be crucial in tailoring rehabilitation strategies for each patient's specific circumstances and needs. Qualifications To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is preferred. A valid state license to practice physical therapy, in accordance with local regulations. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. New graduates are encouraged to apply; prior work experience is not mandatory. Preferred Experience While prior experience is not required, candidates with clinical rotations or internships focused on orthopedic rehabilitation will be highly regarded. Skills in communication, patient engagement, and collaborative healthcare practices will enhance candidate standing. Compensation and Benefits This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $100,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
