As a Physical Therapist, you will utilize various exercises to help patients increase strength, range of motion, endurance and coordination. • A caregiver in this role works a day/evening rotation from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
• A caregiver who excels in this role will: + Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.

+ Interpret plans and supervise patient treatments in accordance with the physician referral, ensuring the care, safety and wellbeing of the patient.

+ Review and evaluate the patient's response or lack thereof to treatment.

+ Make recommendations to the physician relative to the need to continue or discontinue physical therapy treatment.

+ Provide appropriate documentation of each patient's visit in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

+ Be responsible for the maintenance and care of all equipment and apparatus.

+ Be responsible for the economical use of supplies, linens and utilities.

+ Provide appropriate billing for each patient visit in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

+ Assist in on-the-job training of all ancillary personnel. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ Bachelor's Degree or certificate

+ Graduate of a Physical Therapy Program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association or a related international degree

+ Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)

+ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

+ Internship experience Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

+ Prior rehabilitation experience

• Physical Requirements:
• + Work is medium/frequent, lifting and carrying equipment, supplies and materials up to 50 pounds without help of mechanical devices or other personnel.

+ Stooping, pushing, reaching and pulling when moving patients or equipment into position for treatment.

+ WORKING

ENVIRONMENT AND DEMANDS OF POSITION

The occupant of this position spends 98% his/her time in air-conditioned areas, the remainder in outside areas.

+ The potential for exposure to blood and blood-borne pathogens is present while completing clinical duties.

+ This position requires reasoning, mathematical and English language skills. Ability to work at a fast pace and to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests. Ability to resolve conflicts among staff and to work collaboratively.

+ Needs minimal sustained direction in assessing needs and carrying out departmental and professional responsibilities. Self-starting and self-motivating; working hours may exceed eight (8) hours per day and is based on what is needed to accomplish work.
