Join the rehabilitation team at Hilo Benioff Medical Center and help patients regain mobility, independence, and quality of life across acute care and skilled nursing environments. As a Physical Therapist III, you will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation services for individuals of all ages.Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans based on physician referrals and patient goals. Perform comprehensive patient assessments, re-evaluations, and document treatment progress in accordance with regulatory and departmental standards. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, support discharge planning, and optimize patient outcomes. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, home exercise programs, pain management, and safe mobility techniques. Supervise and provide guidance to Physical Therapist Assistants and Physical Therapy Aides as assigned while promoting quality improvement and regulatory compliance. Participate in departmental initiatives, continuing education, and hospital-wide programs to maintain clinical excellence and high standards of patient care.Minimum Qualifications:
Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Hawaii is required at the time of appointment. No prior physical therapy experience required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within one (1) month of appointment.
