There is a newborn who needs someone who understands feeding, oral motor function, and what is actually going on. You could be that person. One Strong Woman Therapy is an independent, women-owned pelvic health practice in Davenport, Iowa. We see nearly 200 patients a week and we treat women and babies at every stage — from prenatal preparation through postpartum recovery and beyond. We are growing and we are looking for a licensed OT or PT with a Certified Lactation Consultant credential to join our team and lead our lactation and newborn care services. This role is rare. There are not many places in the Quad Cities where an OT or PT gets to work at the intersection of lactation support and newborn feeding and oral motor development — in an independent practice that actually has the time, the culture, and the team to do it right.
What you will do:
Provide comprehensive prenatal lactation consultations — preparing families before the baby arrives Conduct postpartum lactation evaluations for newborns and their mothers — latch, positioning, milk transfer, oral function, and feeding goals Support newborn feeding challenges including oral motor dysfunction, tongue and lip tie impacts, latch difficulties, and feeding aversion Assess and treat newborn oral motor development and early feeding skills Collaborate closely with our pelvic floor OT and PT team to provide whole-person postpartum care Communicate with referring providers including OBGYNs, midwives, and pediatricians Maintain clinical documentation and build individualized care plans for each family What we are looking for: Licensed OT or PT in Iowa — or actively working toward licensure Certified Lactation Consultant — CLC required or actively working towards one. Experience or strong interest in newborn feeding, oral motor development, and infant care Genuinely passionate about supporting families in those tender early weeks when everything feels overwhelming Committed to trauma-informed, shame-free, family-centered care — this is who we are at One Strong Woman Excellent communication skills with patients, families, and an interdisciplinary team IBCLC or additional lactation training is a plus but not required To apply: Send your resume and a cover letter to: If this sounds like where you are supposed to be — we want to hear from you.
