Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding part-time contract position as an elementary Physical Therapist, making a difference in a supportive, collaborative school setting near Des Plaines, IL. This role provides the opportunity to contribute expertise during Extended School Year (ESY) services and to help young students achieve their physical development goals in an encouraging, student-centered environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist in Illinois Experience working with elementary school-aged children in a school or pediatric healthcare setting Understanding of school-based therapy practices and IEP processes Strong interpersonal communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, staff, and families Ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse student needs Flexibility to work during ESY (Extended School Year) sessions
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct physical therapy services to elementary students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Develop and implement personalized treatment plans to support student mobility, functional abilities, and participation in school activities Monitor progress, document outcomes, and adjust interventions as needed Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents to maximize student success Attend and contribute to IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions Offer expertise in adapting equipment and the environment to promote student independence and safety
