Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Make a real difference in students' lives by supporting their growth and development in an educational setting near Evanston, IL. This contract Physical Therapist opportunity focuses on K-12th grade students and provides the flexibility of a part-time schedule, with services needed two days a week (14 hours weekly), beginning August 20, 2026, and extending through June 9, 2027. Your expertise will help empower students to participate more confidently in school activities and achieve their fullest potential. You'll collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to provide high-quality care tailored to each student's unique needs.
Key responsibilities include:
Evaluating and assessing students' motor skills and physical abilities within a school environment Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans and interventions Delivering direct, hands-on therapy services for students across K-12th grades Consulting and working collaboratively with teachers, school personnel, and families Documenting assessments, goals, progress, and outcomes according to school and state guidelines Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to student education plans Assisting with the adaptation of school environments and materials to promote student engagement Educating staff and parents on physical therapy strategies for student success
Qualifications & Experience:
Current Physical Therapist license in Illinois Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting highly desired Ability to work effectively with students across a wide range of ages and abilities Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive educational environment Enjoy work-life balance with a two-day-per-week commitment and the chance to make a direct impact in a supportive school community.
