Qualifications and Skills:
Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred Comprehensive understanding of pediatric physical therapy principles and best practices Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, staff, and families Ability to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Flexibility, adaptability, and commitment to fostering student success
Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to determine students' therapy needs and set measurable goals Design and implement tailored physical therapy interventions for students with a range of abilities Collaborate with faculty and interdisciplinary teams to integrate therapy strategies into daily routines Maintain clear and detailed documentation of therapy sessions and progress notes in accordance with school policies Participate in IEP meetings, contributing professional insights to support student plans Educate staff, parents, and caregivers on supporting mobility and physical skills in various school settings Support students in accessing their educational environment safely and effectively This contract opportunity places you in a vibrant educational community near Harvey, IL, where your specialized skills are highly valued and make a daily impact.
