Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting students' growth and development as a Physical Therapist in an educational setting. Work closely with students from early childhood through young adulthood to help them reach their fullest potential. This contract opportunity is for the upcoming academic year, from August 19th, 2026, through June 1st, 2027, offering a full-time, onsite schedule of 35 hours per week.
Essential Qualifications:
Valid and active Illinois PT license Experience in providing physical therapy within a school environment preferred Capability to work in-person with students ranging in age from 3 to 21 years Strong collaboration skills for working alongside teachers, administrators, and families Familiarity with evidence-based PT interventions for students with various disabilities Commitment to engaging in ongoing professional development
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments to determine PT needs for students in diverse programs Develop and implement individualized treatment plans using current best practices Collaborate with educators to incorporate motor development strategies into classroom routines Document progress, participate in IEP meetings, and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations Serve as a resource for staff professional development, sharing insights and training on PT services Adjust therapy approaches to meet evolving student needs throughout the school year This position offers a unique chance to shape students' educational journeys and contribute to an environment that values development, collaboration, and positive outcomes.
