Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity serving as a physical therapist within a dynamic educational setting near Wheeling, IL. This full-time position spans the entire school year, providing vital PT services across four school buildings—two elementary schools and two middle schools. The caseload is manageable, with approximately 20 students in total, and most buildings have only a few students needing support. Your workday will align with school schedules, running from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm at the elementary schools and 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the middle schools, ensuring consistency and work-life balance.
Qualifications & Experience:
Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state Prior experience in a school-based setting preferred Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset Ability to manage a distributed caseload across multiple locations
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct physical therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs or 504 plans Conduct evaluations, develop treatment plans, and monitor student progress Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to promote student engagement and safety Participate in meetings and provide documentation as required by school or district guidelines Travel between assigned schools as needed to ensure consistent coverage
