SPED Coordinator of Itinerant Staff/Related Services Director of Special Education Building PrincipalESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pre-referral prevention/consultation, scheduling, screening, assessment, intervention, consultation, transition services, collaboration with SPED colleagues/general education colleagues/parents, collaboration with universities and community as indicated, documentation of third-party billing, continuing education, inventory management, equipment maintenance, adapts and modifies equipment and environment, 504/1EP plan development and team meetings, mentoring/supervision, data collection, school-wide program development, school duties as per Unit A Contract, building and staff meetings, professionalism (punctual, cooperative, organized, respectful, etc.). Adherence to federal and state legislation, regulations, and policies and the Physical Therapy Code of Ethics (Board of Allied Health).KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and skills in the areas of: movement and function related to the neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems, remediating or compensating for musculoskeletal and neuromuscular impairments, and promoting motor development and participation in everyday routines that are part of the educational program including self-help skills, mobility skills, foundational gross motor skills, and posture and positioning. Familiarity with IDEA and SPED laws and regulations. Continuing education as per licensing requirements.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Undergraduate/Graduate College Intern (per college guidelines) High School Senior (per high school guidelines)REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduated and completed fieldwork requirements from an physical therapy program accredited by the Commission on Education Accreditation in Physical Therapy (CAPTE). Fulfills professional state and/or national requirements for licensure, certification, or registration. This job requires traveling between school buildings within the City.ADA & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment including computers, copiers, adding machines, etc. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects, and/or to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Must be able to stand, crouch and bend over for a long period of time at intervals throughout the day.Data Conception:
