Job Description

A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a Physical Therapist passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with moderate to severe disabilities. This position is full-time, running from August 2026 through June 2027, serving a center-based program and supporting students from kindergarten up to age 26. You will play a vital role in empowering students to reach their full potential by fostering greater independence and mobility within the school environment.
Key Qualifications:
Active Michigan Physical Therapy license (submit a screenshot with your application) Documented school-based experience as a PT (not accepting PTA credentials) Experience supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills Ability to work ONSITE exclusively with flexibility to adapt to evolving student needs Familiarity with IEP development and implementation for diverse age groups
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct physical therapy services to students in a center-based school setting Assess, monitor, and document student progress, updating goals as appropriate Collaborate with educators, therapists, families, and support staff to develop and implement individualized therapy plans Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation of student-centered goals Implement age- and ability-appropriate interventions and assistive technology as needed Provide consultative support and training to staff regarding therapeutic accommodations and student mobility
