Job Description

Physical Therapist Rehab Services PRN (as needed)
BASIC PURPOSE
The staff Physical Therapist functions under the general supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services. The staff PT assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides physical therapy evaluations, modalities, and treatments in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care.
EDUCATION
Must be a graduate of or have a certificate from an American Physical Therapy Association approved school of PT. Must have current CPR certification
LICENSURE
Must have or be eligible for MS state licensure as a PT per state law.
EXPERIENCE
Preferred minimum of two years clinical experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Must have the ability to perform basic computer skills.
REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to apply the theory of PT. Must be able to perform technical procedures. Must be able to instill confidence in patients, physicians, and personnel. Must be able to determine proper procedures and methods and evaluate results. Must be able to make decisions on his/her own. Must have the ability to adapt to emergency situations. Must be alert to changes in a patient's condition. Must be alert to all activities of the department. Must maintain a high degree of accuracy in carrying out prescriptions, receiving, and translating information, and charting and reporting. Must have the ability and competency to operate the equipment used in the position.
