Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity awaits passionate Physical Therapists seeking a rewarding contract role supporting PreK and elementary students for the 2026-2027 school year. This position will operate on a 4-day work week, with services provided two days in Albuquerque and two days in Santa Fe. Over the 10-month term, you'll play a vital role in helping young learners maximize their mobility and physical development in a dynamic school environment.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Physical Therapy license in New Mexico (or eligibility for licensure) Previous experience working with pediatric populations, particularly in educational settings Strong understanding of school-based PT protocols and compliance requirements Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams Ability to travel between Albuquerque and Santa Fe for assigned days Clear communication and documentation abilities
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and consultative PT services to PreK and elementary students in accordance with IEP goals Conduct assessments and develop individualized therapy plans Maintain thorough records of student progress and session outcomes Work closely with teachers and school staff to integrate interventions into daily routines Engage families in supporting therapy objectives and generalizing skills to the home environment Travel between school locations according to the weekly schedule Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the evaluation process
