Job Description

Physical Therapist (Outpatient) - New Mexico - Permanent and Direct Hire $30,000 sign-on bonus with 3-year commitment Job Type Full-time General Description The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating patients, establishing a plan of care, and treating patients who require physical therapy services. They deliver patient care within accepted boundaries of Physical Therapy Practice as defined by the New Mexico State Board of Physical Therapy, standards and policies accepted by the American Physical Therapy Association. Essential Functions Assess the patient based on a referral from an appropriate provider. Plan care based on the physical, psychosocial, age, and medical needs of the patient, involving the patient and family/caregiver in the planning and delivery of care. Deliver safe, appropriate, planned patient care with accurate and timely documentation. Accurately communicate care and patient condition to patient, family, and all others involved in the patient's care. Document treatments, evaluations, discharges, and progress reports. Notify physician in a timely and appropriate manner regarding the condition and status of the patient. Ensure a safe environment for the patient by maintaining a clean treatment area, reporting any concerns or issues with the equipment, and considering the patient's age and condition. Prepare supplies, equipment, and treatment area for patient treatments. Direct and support patient care activities provided by PTAs, Rehab Techs, or students, providing education and training as needed. Provide appropriate education to the patient and family and complete the required documentation. Perform appropriate interventions as applicable. Participate in department meetings and case conferences. Maintain knowledge and skills to provide safe, effective, and efficient care for patients. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Education & Training Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy New Mexico Physical Therapist license Current AHA BLS Ability to pass the Rehab Department Aquatic Competency test within 90 days of hire if aquatic therapy will be part of work/treatment requirements Work Experience Requirements One (1) year experience preferred New grads welcomed
