Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Looking for a fulfilling contract opportunity that allows you to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities? This year-round outpatient program offers 15-20 weekly hours of hands-on experience, treating patients from age 12 through older adulthood, with a focus on young adults. You'll work in a collaborative setting, providing treatment to clients who typically attend two sessions per week, supporting a diverse range of needs—without the requirement for restraints. This role is ideal for a physical therapist with experience in educational and healthcare settings, or for an OT comfortable transitioning between schools and clinics. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as you'll be building therapeutic rapport and guiding patients through their goals. Knowledge of the Medicare and Medicaid system is also needed, but there's no script writing involved.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist Experience supporting school-aged individuals and adults within healthcare and/or educational settings Familiarity working with intellectual and developmental disabilities Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid procedures (no script writing required) Ability to adapt and engage across a broad age range and disability levels Excellent communication and rapport-building skills
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver PT or OT services to patients in a year-round outpatient setting Support a caseload of individuals attending twice-weekly sessions Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team; contribute to holistic patient care Maintain accurate documentation in line with program protocols Foster a welcoming, respectful, and motivating environment for all participants Flexible scheduling can be discussed during the interview, ensuring work-life balance while meeting patient needs.
