Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a school-based setting near Fairport, NY. This role is ideal for a passionate Physical Therapist eager to make an impact on student success and help children reach their fullest potential across diverse educational environments.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
Valid Physical Therapy license in the state of New York Previous experience as a Physical Therapist in school or pediatric settings strongly preferred Knowledge of IEP processes, goal development, and documentation requirements Strong communication abilities with students, staff, and families Adaptability and problem-solving skills in dynamic classroom situations Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct physical therapy services to students, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on student needs and IEPs Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and other therapists to maximize student participation in both academic and functional school activities Conduct assessments to determine eligibility and needs, documenting progress and ongoing recommendations Offer consultation and training to staff and families regarding adaptations, assistive devices, and support strategies Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with school, state, and federal regulations Participate in IEP meetings and school-based team collaboration This is a contract position offering the chance to help empower students by supporting mobility, independence, and access to the curriculum.
