Physical Therapist (PT) - Preschool SCIS Program |
Immediate Hire Location:
Kiddie Academy of Floral Park, 339 Jericho Turnpike, Floral Park, NY 11001
Schedule:
Part-Time | Availability Between 8:00 AM-2:15
PM Pay:
$40 per 30-minute session PEEK NY is seeking a compassionate and experienced Physical Therapist (PT) to provide services to preschool-aged children in our Special Class in an Integrated Setting (SCIS) program. The Physical Therapist will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families to support students' gross motor development, mobility, strength, coordination, balance, and functional independence within the preschool environment.
Responsibilities:
Provide individual and/or small-group physical therapy services to preschool-aged children. Implement treatment plans and IEP goals as directed. Address gross motor skills, balance, coordination, strength, mobility, and functional movement. Provide therapy within the classroom and natural school environment whenever appropriate. Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families to support student progress. Maintain accurate and timely session notes and required documentation. Participate in team meetings and communicate student progress and recommendations. Adapt therapeutic activities to meet each child's developmental and functional needs. Support an inclusive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Qualifications:
Current New York State Physical Therapist (PT) license. Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program. Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred. Knowledge of preschool special education and IEPs preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Must be eligible to provide related services within the preschool/CPSE setting. Must complete all required agency and regulatory clearances prior to providing services. Why Join PEEK NY?
