Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a Physical Therapist for a school-based setting near Hudson, NY. This full-time assignment begins as soon as possible and is slated to run through June 26, with the possibility of extending into the summer session. The role involves providing essential physical therapy services to help students reach their fullest potential and includes making up 450 compensatory hours.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in New York State Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric environment is highly preferred Strong ability to collaborate with educators, families, and other support staff Skilled in developing, implementing, and tracking individualized therapy plans Familiarity with documentation requirements and IEP processes Compassionate, flexible, and effective communication skills Ability to manage a full-time caseload spanning grades K-12
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver evidence-based PT interventions to students from kindergarten through 12th grade Assess, document, and monitor student progress while maintaining required records Address and make up 450 compensatory PT hours as part of your assignment Collaborate with special education staff, classroom teachers, and families to create supportive learning environments Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning Adapt therapy strategies to meet diverse needs and abilities Serve as a valued resource for best practices in physical development and movement This school-based contract role promises a dynamic workday and the chance to make lasting impacts in the lives of students.
