Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding part-time opportunity supporting student growth as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant in a school-based environment. This contract position, conveniently located near Newburgh, NY, allows you to make a meaningful difference while maintaining work-life balance with a two-days-per-week schedule. Your background in pediatric or school-based physical therapy, or experience as a PTA within schools, will serve you well in this dynamic role. Collaborate with a caring educational team, develop and implement individualized therapy plans, and foster improvements in students' mobility, access, and participation.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
Current license as a Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in New York State Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting highly preferred Strong knowledge of therapeutic interventions appropriate for school-aged children Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and related service providers Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to determine students' physical therapy needs in educational settings Create, implement, and adapt treatment plans to maximize student function and access to learning Document interventions and progress towards IEP goals in accordance with school and state guidelines Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services two days per week
