Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic educational environment near Poughkeepsie, NY, where you can make a meaningful difference as a part-time Physical Therapist. This contract opportunity offers the chance to support students in a school setting, collaborating closely with educators and families to ensure learners achieve their fullest potential. You will work 2 days a week at a vibrant education center, delivering vital therapy services and fostering student success.
Qualifications & Experience Desired:
Current licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in New York State Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings strongly preferred Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students of varying ages and needs Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams Compassionate, student-centered mindset and adaptability to different learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
Assess students' motor skills and develop tailored treatment goals and interventions Deliver direct therapy services to students, documenting progress and adjusting plans as needed Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute clinical insight Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to promote functional mobility and independence within the educational setting Support students in developing strategies for classroom participation and motor skill improvement This rewarding part-time role offers an excellent work-life balance, ideal for professionals seeking a flexible schedule while contributing to the well-being of school-age children.
