Job Description

Job Title:
Temporary Physical Therapist Assistant - Long Term Care (LTC) (Days)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team for a long-term care facility. The PTA will support clinical interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, providing rehabilitative services to patients with physical functioning disorders. This role involves administering various therapeutic procedures, assessing patient progress, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and clinical standards. The ideal candidate will possess active state licensure and adhere strictly to professional ethics and practice acts.
Key Responsibilities:
Support clinical interventions using evidence-based practices. Provide medically necessary treatment interventions, including manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use/supportive devices. Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising Physical Therapist to modify treatments. Report treatment outcomes and effectiveness. Offer consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and service providers. Communicate effectively with team members regarding patient progress and treatment plans. Assist in preparing discharge summaries and document all patient information accurately. Record treatment minutes per regulatory and clinical requirements. Participate in care conferences, utilization reviews, and training sessions. Collaborate with the supervising Physical Therapist for supplies and DME needs. Supervise and support students under the Physical Therapist's guidance. Comply with all applicable practice acts, ethical standards, and documentation policies.
Qualifications:
Active State Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Strong understanding of clinical procedures and documentation. Excellent communication skills and team collaboration. Ability to work independently and within a team in a long-term care setting.
