Job Information Exemption Status:
Non-Exempt A Brief Overview Plans and administers physical therapy treatments for patients suffering from injuries or disease affecting neurological, musculoskeletal, sensory, respiratory, and cardiac systems with the purpose of restoring function, relieving pain, providing education to patients, families and staff. Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Required Master's Degree Preferred Experience Qualifications 1 year Experience in the licensed practice of physical therapy Preferred Skills and Abilities Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. (Required proficiency) Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. (Required proficiency) Ability to use written documentation that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. (Required proficiency) Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. (Required proficiency) Licenses and Certifications Physical Therapist (PT) - KSBHA Required What you will do Performs and documents the initial examination, testing, evaluation, and diagnosis. Timely review of documentation, re-examination and revision of the plan of care when indicated. Develops the plan of care including frequency, duration of treatment, and goals of intervention. Delegation of tasks to rehabilitation technicians under the personal supervision of the physical therapist or physical therapist assistant. Delegation of and instruction about services provided by the physical therapist assistant. Coordinates with other practitioners to integrate physical therapy with other aspects of the patient's care. Establishment and documentation of the discharge plan and discharge summary, when indicated. Oversight of documentation for services, including documents for billing rendered to each patient under the care of the physical therapist. Monitors and educates physical therapy assistants, techs, students. Interprets the physician referral utilizing review of available medical information. Provides education and training programs for interdisciplinary staff and community organizations. Education of patient and any appropriate caregivers or interdisciplinary staff. Provides appropriate information to insurance and legal entities. Completes all assigned competencies/mandated education and others tasks per organizational standards. Accepts assignment to committees/task forces. Participates in research for performance improvement, knowledge of evidence based practice. •Practices within the guidelines of KPTA/APTA/Kansas law/Federal law. Due to the open floor plan with exposed ceiling the sound within the clinic can be loud and industrial at times which requires team members to be able to tolerate the volume.
