Job Description
Pappas OPT in Providence, RI is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our outpatient team. In this role, you will evaluate and treat a diverse caseload using evidence-based practices, develop individualized care plans, and educate patients to support long-term recovery and improved quality of life. You'll collaborate closely with a supportive, interdisciplinary team that values patient-centered care and employee well-being. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for outpatient patients with orthopedic, neuromuscular, and post-surgical conditions. Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized, evidence-based plans of care focused on functional goals and patient needs. Provide a full range of therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, gait and balance training, and functional mobility training. Educate patients and their families on diagnosis, prognosis, treatment plan, home exercise programs, injury prevention, and strategies to improve long-term health and function. Document evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries accurately and timely in the electronic medical record system. Collaborate and communicate with referring physicians and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes. Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans based on response, and make appropriate recommendations regarding continuation or discharge from therapy. Manage a varied outpatient caseload efficiently while maintaining high standards of clinical quality and patient satisfaction. Participate in professional development activities, including in-services, mentorship, and continuing education, to maintain and grow clinical competence. Contribute to a positive, supportive, and collaborative clinic culture that prioritizes patient-centered care and staff well-being.
