Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract position serving K-12 students in an Extended School Year (ESY) program this summer. This role is tailored for a physical therapist who thrives in educational settings and is ready to make a positive impact over the course of a short-term assignment. The program runs from July 7th to July 30th, providing vital support and services to students during the summer session.
Key Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution. Active and valid Rhode Island state Physical Therapy license. Experience in school-based physical therapy settings preferred. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with educators, support staff, and families. Passion for working with diverse student populations in grades K-12.
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver physical therapy services to students across K-12th grade, focusing on maximizing student independence and functional skills within the school environment. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans and interventions as part of the ESY program. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support each child's educational goals. Collect data on student performance and provide progress updates to the educational team and families. Maintain thorough and compliant documentation of all therapy sessions and interventions. This contract position offers competitive hourly compensation between $40 and $60, reflecting your skills and experience, and you'll enjoy the consistency of weekly pay throughout the assignment.
