JOB DUTIES
Provide physical therapy services to home health pediatric patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). Assist in assessing the rehabilitative and functional status of the patient by implementing the plan of care developed by the PT. Regularly monitor and report the patient's response to treatment and progress toward established goals to the supervising PT. Observe and document changes in the patient's condition and report any concerns or significant findings to the PT for further evaluation or plan of care adjustments. Implement therapeutic interventions to address deficits such as muscle strength, coordination, mobility, gait, and range of motion, as outlined in the PT's plan of care. Assist in evaluating the safety and appropriateness of the home environment for therapy and functional mobility. Follow infection control and safety protocols in compliance with OSHA standards to protect both the patient and healthcare staff. Collaborate with other members of the care team and communicate effectively with the supervising PT, physicians, and family members to ensure continuity of care. Demonstrate ongoing professional growth and competency through participation in in-service training and continuing education. Support the PT in the supervision and guidance of other therapy personnel as directed, in accordance with state regulations. Uphold and promote the agency's philosophy and administrative policies to maintain high standards of care. Provide compassionate, clear, and respectful communication to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
