Job Title:
Hospice Physical Therapist Job Type:
PRN, paid per visit
Job Summary:
The Hospice Physical Therapist provides skilled physical therapy services to patients with life-limiting illnesses in hospice care. They assess patients' mobility, strength, balance, and functional abilities, develop individualized treatment plans focused on comfort and quality of life, and help patients maintain the highest possible level of independence and safety. The therapist collaborates with an interdisciplinary hospice team, educates patients and caregivers on mobility techniques and equipment use, and supports symptom management while respecting each patient's goals of care and end-of-life preferences.
Requirements:
Licensure:
Current State license in state of practice. Current driver's license. Current CPR Certification.
Experience:
Two (2) years' experience as a Physical Therapist in a clinical care setting and one (1) year full-time hospice preferred.
Skills:
PT skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice. Knowledge of state and federal regulations. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions. Strong attention to detail and organizational habits. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills.
Transportation:
Reliable transportation and valid auto liability insurance.
