Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students across multiple campuses as a full-time Physical Therapist in a vibrant educational environment near Garland, TX. This contract position spans November through February, offering you the chance to make a meaningful impact during a key time in the school year. As an itinerant practitioner, you'll deliver essential services to K-12 students, fostering their growth and helping them reach important milestones.
Key Qualifications:
Active Texas Physical Therapist (PT) license required Previous experience working in school-based settings strongly preferred Must provide references for the two most recent supervisors Ability to complete fingerprinting through the TEA, if not done recently for another public school district (required for credentialing) Strong communication, collaboration, and organization skills Enthusiasm for supporting students from diverse backgrounds and grade levels
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide physical therapy services to students in grades K-12, adapting sessions to each student's needs Travel between multiple schools, ensuring comprehensive coverage as part of an itinerant team Work closely with educators and families, being an active member of the school community Maintain accurate records of student progress and document treatments per school and professional protocols Contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and collaborate regularly with multidisciplinary teams Offer insight and support to faculty regarding best practices for student mobility and accessibility Enjoy the rewards of working in education, knowing your expertise is brightening futures every day.
