We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Hand Therapy Specialist (Physical Therapist/Occupational Therapist) to join our team. This role is ideal for a clinician with advanced expertise in treating conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity. The specialist will deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care to optimize functional outcomes following injury, surgery, or chronic conditions. Candidates with or working toward the Certified Hand Therapist ( CHT ) credential are highly preferred.. Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive evaluations of upper extremity conditions (hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder) Develop and implement advanced, individualized treatment plans Provide specialized interventions including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, and neuromuscular re-education Design and fabricate custom orthoses/splints Manage post-operative rehabilitation protocols in collaboration with referring surgeons Treat a wide range of diagnoses including: Tendon and nerve injuries Fractures and post-surgical cases Carpal tunnel and repetitive strain injuries Arthritis and degenerative conditions Monitor patient progress and modify care plans to ensure optimal outcomes Maintain precise and compliant clinical documentation Educate patients on injury prevention, ergonomics, and home programs Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams Qualifications Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program Active state Physical Therapist license Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential preferred (or eligibility with required clinical hours) Minimum 4 years of upper extremity or orthopedic experience Strong knowledge of post-surgical protocols and hand therapy techniques Skills & Expertise Advanced manual therapy skills for upper extremity Custom splinting and orthotic fabrication Post-operative rehabilitation expertise Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving Excellent communication and patient education abilities High level of attention to detail and documentation accuracy Loudoun Medical Group provides competitive compensation and benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401 (k) and many other voluntary products.
