Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as an onsite Physical Therapist working with students in an educational setting near Tappahannock, VA. This role provides the chance to engage directly with children and adolescents, making a meaningful impact on their mobility, function, and participation in school activities. You'll collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and other specialists, ensuring comprehensive care for each student. In this position, you'll work onsite 2-3 days per week throughout the 2026-2027 school year, offering flexibility while maintaining consistency for students in need of your expertise.
Qualifications:
Active Physical Therapist license for the state of Virginia, or eligibility to obtain before the start date Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting strongly preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans Collaborative mindset for working within multidisciplinary teams
Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments to identify students' physical therapy needs Design and implement targeted intervention plans, striving for measurable growth Provide direct therapy services to students with a range of physical and developmental challenges Monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed, maintaining clear documentation Communicate goals, progress, and strategies with families, teachers, and staff Participate in IEP meetings, sharing insight and advocating for student needs Foster an encouraging and supportive environment that enables each child to thrive This onsite PT position offers an opportunity to make a lasting difference for students while enjoying a consistent, part-time contract schedule.
