Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients to assess their unique needs, challenges, and goals. Create and implement tailored treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices to enhance patient recovery. Provide direct patient care through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities aimed at improving strength, balance, and mobility. Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration by regularly communicating and coordinating care plans with occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, nursing staff, and physicians. Instruct patients and their families on therapy goals, therapeutic exercises for home practice, and strategies for injury prevention to enhance ongoing recovery. Maintain meticulous documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and interactions in compliance with all state, federal, and facility regulations. Assist in discharge planning by evaluating patient readiness and recommending follow-up services and necessary equipment to ensure a seamless transition from therapy to home. Patient Population / Client Focus Our patient demographic includes individuals recovering from surgery, traumatic injuries, and chronic illnesses, with a significant focus on geriatric rehab. This role will require a compassionate approach and the ability to adapt therapeutic techniques to meet the unique needs of older adults, ensuring their dignity and respect are upheld in every interaction. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program (DPT or MPT). Current Physical Therapist license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain licensure. Certified in CPR or willingness to obtain certification promptly. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team. Critical thinking and time management skills to prioritize patient care efficiently. A genuine passion for working with elderly populations and a strong commitment to enhancing their quality of life. Preferred Experience At least 2 years of experience in outpatient rehabilitation, skilled nursing, or similar settings. Experience working in geriatrics, understanding their specific rehabilitation needs and challenges. Compensation and Benefits The competitive compensation for this position ranges from $90,000 to $120,000 annually, supplemented with a comprehensive benefits package.
