Job Description

A unique opportunity awaits for a physical therapist passionate about supporting students during Extended School Year (ESY) programming. This contract position is based on-site for a dynamic summer assignment, working directly with a small and manageable caseload of 10-15 students. The role focuses on delivering high-quality therapy services that can make a meaningful impact during a condensed schedule of ESY.

Qualifications & Required Experience:

Active Washington State Physical Therapy license Valid Washington State ESA (Educational Staff Associate) certification Previous experience working in a school-based setting preferred Strong communication skills and adaptability Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams Commitment to fostering students' physical development and functional independence

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct physical therapy services to ESY students in accordance with IEP goals Assess student needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and track progress Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate records Partner with school staff and participate in meetings as needed Deliver therapeutic interventions that are evidence-based and age-appropriate Communicate effectively with parents/guardians on student progress Ensure compliance with all district and state guidelines This contract covers the Summer 2026 ESY period, running Monday through Friday, 5 hours each day from July 6th through July 31st. This assignment is exclusively on-site, providing valuable hands-on experience and the chance to engage directly with students and colleagues.
