Responsibilities Assist licensed Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists, as well as Therapy Assistants, during patient care activities. Prepare and maintain treatment areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment. Perform clerical tasks, including ordering departmental supplies and maintaining accurate records. Communicate acute care schedule changes to nursing staff as needed. Support front office operations, including scheduling appointments, collecting co-pays and co-insurance, and reconciling daily charges. Assist with patient transfers, treatments, and delivery of therapy equipment to inpatient rooms upon request. Manage ordering and maintenance of therapy equipment and supplies. Help ensure clinic compliance with Joint Commission standards under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor. Foster and maintain professional relationships with staff and uphold high personal standards in daily work.Qualifications Education:
High School graduate or equivalent.Experience:
Prior hospital Physical Therapy Aide experience preferred.Skills:
Ability to work well with others with tact and diplomacy, as there is much interdepartmental and departmental exchange of information. Excellent communication skills are required to relate effectively with patients, co-workers, and management. Good verbal, written, and listening skills are necessary. Organizational and time management skills are essential. Basic familiarity with computers, including use of Excel, are preferred.
